Our State of the Art Swimming Centre

Our state of the art swimming pool is 1.2 metres deep, 25 metres long and 7.5 metres wide. To make it enjoyable for all, the pool is equipped with stairs and rails ensuring easy access for pregnant women and the elderly. Ventilation works with our heat pumps. As the water is being heated pumps monitor ambient air temperature ensuring our kids are comfortable in the water and parents are comfortable outside too. Our ventilation also keeps the air crisp and removes the majority of condensation and smells. We've had a good test this summer, whilst temperatures reached the mid 40's outside, we were able to keep our Starfish Aquatics under 30's most days.

Daily testing includes:

All of our systems are monitored automatically. On a daily basis, as second check we conduct manual water samples three times a day to ensure the water has the right amount of chlorine and is well-balanced overall.

Fortnightly testing includes:

Super chlorinating our pool every 2 weeks to remove unwanted germs. Super chlorination is a water treatment process in which the addition of excess amounts of chlorine to a pool speed chemical reactions to insure disinfection within a short contact time.

Monthly testing includes:

To keep everybody safe, the team here at Starfish Aquatics ensure consistent lab testing of our water. We conduct water testing with an independent laboratory on a monthly basis to ensure our water is free of unwanted germs and safe for our members to swim. A few things we test for are:

  • Heterotrophic Plate Count | This is a method that measures colony formation on culture media of heterotrophic bacteria in drinking water. Thus the HPC test (also known as Standard Plate Count) can be used to measure the overall bacteriological quality of drinking water in public, semi-public and private water systems.

  • Escherichia Coli | E. coli is a type of bacteria that normally live in the intestines of people and animals. However, some types of E. coli, particularly E. coli O157:H7, can cause intestinal infection.

  • Pseudomonas Aeruginosa | This is a common Gram-negativerod-shaped bacterium that can cause disease in humans. A species of considerable medical importance,

(Advanced Oxidation Process)

WE ARE PROUD TO SAY WE HAVE THE BEST WATER IN THE HAWKESBURY.

I know as parents, it is imperative that our kids are in the safest and cleanest water possible.

To ensure we live up to your expectations Starfish have invested in the AOP system. ( Advanced Oxidation Process )

The combination of dissolved ozone with UV light creates AOP (Advanced Oxidation Process). This forms the most reactive agents known to chemistry. AOP has even more oxidation potential than ozone or any other oxidising agent. So much so that where normal oxidising agents fail AOP prevails, the power of the whole system is increased; creating the synergy of AOP.

AOP can enhance water quality second to none, and was traditionally not affordable due to high capital costs; until now.

The combination of Ozone and UV effectively destroys all the organic proteinaceous material which is the basic food material for bacterial and fungi which will not multiply. Further this combination effectively destroys virus.

The AOP + Chlorine will ensure that Cryptosporidium are also destroyed faster than Ozone alone.
